Sanya plans to build tram system
Sanya is gauging the public’s feedback on a proposed tram system.
City authorities have proposed building 4 lines covering a total of 60 kilometers of tram tracks. Powered by electricity, trams are rail vehicles that run on tracks. In Sanya, it will be used to supplement the existing public transportation network.
The proposed Line T1 will start from Sanya Phoenix Airport, passing through Haihong Road, Sanya Bay Road, Jinjiling Road, Shengli Road and will end on Jiangang Road.
Line T2 will run from Haiyue Square to Jiyang Town, with stops at Shengli Road, Yinbing Road and National Highway 223.
Line T3 will start from Haipo District and run to Tianyahaijiao, linking with Xincheng Road and National Highway 225.
Line T4 will stretch from Sanya Railway Station to the Hongsha Area, passing through Yuxiu Road, Hairun Road, Fenghuang Road and Yuya Road.
Line 1 and Line 4 will be the backbone of the system, serving the function of sightseeing for tourists, as well as urban living services and transport distribution.
