The high season for Sanya’s MICE sector is picking up as the city has been seeing a large number of MICE and individual private tours since April.

MICE groups have been a great new guest source to benefit hotels. According to the responsible person of St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay, the hotel usually sees 20%-30% share in profits driven by strong demand during the MICE travel peak season.

Recognizing the importance of large-scale events, the local government, travel agents as well as hotels have joined hands to promote Sanya’s image as a MICE destination in China.

This year, 10 hotels and resorts under the management of Starwood Group Hainan region jointly launched the ‘Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hainan brings MICE personalization to you’ campaign to offer dedicated MICE service to deliver outstanding events.

To promote Haitang Bay as an attractive host for the MICE industry, the local government also provided 1.5 million yuan cash rewards to encourage travel agents to lure more MICE tours.

Besides, in the time to come, many travel agents in Sanya have begun developing marketing strategies to offer a series of all-in services at good prices for the boom in this kind of tourism.
