Haikou Airport duty-free store to put expanded area into service in 2015
The 6,000-sqm newly expanded shopping area of the Haikou Meilan Airport duty-free store will come into service this year, according to a recent company announcement.
The size of the business area will be expanded to over 11,000 sqm, allowing it to cater to far more customers’ and their increasing shopping demands.
Since the duty-free program at Haikou Meilan Airport was put into place in December 2011, the duty-free shop has attracted a great deal of business from visitors, with duty-free sales increasing from 380 million yuan in 2012 to 940 million yuan in 2014.
At present, a number of internationally-recognized brands have been introduced to the store, including Channel, La Mer, La Prairie, Sulwhasoo, Sisley, Bobbi Brown and Laneige.
