A detailed urban plan for Sanya’s cityscape was recently approved by a panel of experts on May 6th, 2014.

According to the plan, the comprehensive improvement on the cityscapes will target natural landscapes, transportation, architectural landmarks and city green zones with various functions to make sure that in the future Sanya will be a more and more beautiful tourism city with the most comfortable environment.

Under the plan, a network of slow lanes and trails will be built on the city’s three costal roads including Sanya Bay Road, Nanbianhai Road and Yingbin-Yalong Bay Road to make the city more bike-friendly.

Besides, some shops along the street on Hongqi Street, Shangping Street and Walking Street on Jiefang Road will get a facelift to fit into the tropical landscape of Sanya in the near future.

Construction on urban parks will target 5 zones including the Yuechuan Wetland Park, Coconut Islet Wetland Park, Jinjiling Park, Hubaoling Forest Park and Sanya Tropical Botanical Park. Besides, the government will improve waterfront landscape belts in the Sanya Bay and Sanya River areas.
