The installation of surveillance cameras on Dadonghai Beach has been completed, which will provide evidence in cases so as to better regulate nude sunbathing and swimming on public beaches.

On February 8th, the local police issued notices prohibiting skinny-dipping and naked sunbathing at Dadonghai Beach as such nude beach activities are considered uncivilized behavior and may disturb other beachgoers.

However, there are still some nude bathers on the beach who rush to put clothes on when the police arrive and then get undressed again once authorities leave.

During the crackdown, two men who insisted on sunbathing naked on Dadonghai beach were been thrown in jail for five and ten day sentences, respectively.

According to China’s law on public security, people who intentionally expose themselves in a public place can be detained for five to ten days.
