According to the Sanya Holiday Office, Sanya’s 6 major scenic spots received 26,000 total tourists on May 1st, the first day of the national 3-day May Day holiday.

Among them, visitor arrivals to the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone reached 8,300, down 17% year-on-year, said the office. The number of tourist arrivals to Tianyahaijiao Scenic Spot was 6,300, up 14.55% and Dongtian Park’s numbers increased 35.78% to 2,800 on that day.

Sanya has set up regulations on hotel room rates during the holiday. The hotels in Sanya maintained an average occupancy rate of 65.21%, data from the Sanya Holiday Tourism Office showed.

On May 1st, the average price of hotel rooms in Yalong Bay was reported at 1,483 yuan per night, followed by that of Haitang Bay (1,221 yuan per night) and Dadonghai (826 yuan per night).
