On March 27, Sanya Qiongzhou University announced its cooperation with Microsoft to set up a "Microsoft IT Academy" to boost the training of IT experts on its campus.

The Microsoft IT Academy is designed to offer a conductive environment for students to foster a spirit of innovation and generate powerful new ideas through training and knowledge transfer.

“As one of the leading international IT enterprises, Microsoft will provide a platform for Qiongzhou University to produce high quality graduates as well as improve the informational level of the Hainan international tourism island”, said a person from Qiongzhou University associated with the new academy.

Last year, Hainan’s government signed a cooperation agreement with Microsoft Company to set up the Microsoft Innovation Center, the first ever of its kind in mainland China.
