Recently, statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that housing prices for newly built homes in Sanya in February increased 5.3% year on year and 0.2% compared with that in January.

Among the 70 selected large- and medium-sized Chinese cities, only one city saw prices decline in February.

The house prices for second-hand houses in Sanya increased 2.4% year on year and 0.1% month on month. Second-hand home prices in Haikou rose by 0.4% year-on-year and dropped by 0.1% month-on-month.

In 2013, Sanya took the leading role among the cities and counties in Hainan province in real estate investment, with a total investment of 30.272 billion yuan, an increase of 27% over the same period of 2012.
