The landscape lights will be turned off from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time.
Currently, more than 1,189 cities and towns in 80 countries worldwide show their support for action on climate change by switching off their lights for annual Earth Hour. This year is the second year that Sanya is participating in Earth Hour.
The local government has also called for the public to increase awareness of energy-saving by turning off their nonessential lights for one hour that evening to benefit the planet.
Earth Hour, initiated by the WWF in Australia in 2007, calls on families and buildings to turn off their lights for one hour on the last Saturday night of March. This will be the sixth year that China has participated
