Sanya was the biggest winner at the 2013 Best Tourist Destination Awards Ceremony organized by Ctrip.com, the leading online travel service provider in China.

Sanya won 7 awards, including the best tourist city, best sea islet destination, best honeymoon destination and best destination for families, college students and post 80s generation.

A total of 15 awards were given out at the ceremony. Other individual awards included best independent travel destination, destination with the greatest potential, the best eco-tourism destination, the most leisurely destination and the most attractive urban destination.

Winners of all the awards were selected by 3 million travelers in a two-month long online voting campaign.

The selection is the only ranking of its kind in China that is solely based on online voting, and it is currently rated as the most authoritative and influential top tourist destinations selection in China.
