A new air quality monitoring station in Haitang Bay was put into operation recently, bringing the total number of air monitoring stations in the city to 3.

The other two air quality stations in operation are located in the Hexi and Hedong districts. The real-time air quality information released online includes the monitoring data of levels of inhalable participates (PM 10), PM 2.5 pollution particles, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and ozone.

Residents can check the real-time air quality at 3 online platforms. They are the Chinese National Urban Air Quality Real-time Publishing Platform, the Sanya government site (www.sanya.gov.cn) and official website of the Sanya Land Environment & Resources Department (www.sylr.gov.cn).
  
According to data released by the Chinese National Urban Air Quality Real-time Publishing Platform, the overall air quality of Sanya on February 28th ranked "level I”, with an average air quality indices (AQI) reading of 22.
