Sanya’s public transportation bureau is planning to adjust the existing bus routes, aimed at optimizing the bus system and service in the city.

The adjustment covers 24 lines, including 7 opening soon, 2 to be cancelled, as well as 15 changing bus routes.

On some road sections, many residents claimed that hey have experienced problems with buses due to insufficient buses, often leading to passengers having a long wait at bus stops, making the service ineffective.

The 7 newly added bus lines mainly service remote areas like Yacheng Town, Yucai Town and Haitang Bay Town.

Authority said the adjustment will reduce overlapping routes, particularly in the downtown area, while enhancing public transport capacity for lines linking the urban and rural areas.

Additionally, the government is also considering setting up three state-owned public transpor-tation enterprises to reduce the operational cost and improve bus service.
