Starting December 1st, Hong Kong Airlines will increase its frequency of Hong Kong-Haikou flights, bringing the overall flights operating from 7 to 11 weekly.

Hong Kong has always been one of the most important overseas tourist source markets for Hainan tourism. The latest statistics released by the Hainan Tourism Development Commission show that Hainan received a total of 93,500 tourist arrivals in the first ten months of this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 9%.

Apart from the normal Hong Kong-Haikou daily flights, the 4 newly added flights will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The increase in flights resonates with a strategy proposed by the provincial government to attract more domestic and overseas tourists to the island.
