First phase of Sanya Nanshan Port put into operation
The first cargo ship ‘Shi Tai 118’ successfully berthed at the Nanshan Port, marking the opening of the port project's first phase, which involved an investment of 300 million yuan.
The first phase of the Sanya Nanshan Port project, which started construction at the end of 2005, is located within the Yazhou Bay 40 km from Sanya City. The port is designed to have an annual capacity of 650,000 tons and includes a 260-meter-long quay length.
The port stems from Sanya's port functions, separating cargo, fishing and passenger transport. It will become a cargo port area for the Sanya port and carry the trade functions of southern Hainan, advancing Hainan's trade development with Southeast Asian countries.
