The 5th ‘Aloha Cup’ Round Hainan Regatta 2014 is scheduled to be held from March 19th to 28th. The start and finish lines will be in Sanya, with Haikou and Wanning acting as stopover cities.

35 international and domestic teams have been confirmed to take part, and the number of teams is expected to reach 45. The race consists of 5 groups including IRC-A, IRC-B, Oceanis40, Soto27 and Far East26.

Among them, the IRC A fleet will compete in the in-shore races in Sanya and Haikou. The fleet will also participate in a 470 nautical mile offshore race round Hainan Island.

The IRC B fleet will compete in a series of inshore races in Sanya and Wanning as well as in offshore rally races between Sanya and Wanning.

The Soto 27 and Far East26 one-design fleet will only compete in the inshore series of races in Sanya.

Among them, Race Team Dongfeng, the only Chinese sailing team for the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15, will also be racing on the local course, which brings a high expectation to them for the sailing event.

Besides, a series of entertainment activities will be staged during the events such as test-riding motorboats, Xbox gaming, a Clown Show, a Bouncy Castle and close-up magic performances.
