Sanya is planning to build 2 cross-river bridges over Sanya River this year.

Wang Yong, the Mayor of Sanya Government said the project, which connect the Hedong and Hexi districts, is expected to ease traffic congestion on the existing two bridges and address the demand of a growing number of people travelling in the city during peak seasons.

Besides, to greatly ease traffic jams and reach the standards of the city’s development level, the government will reconstruct the old bridges to cover an expansion of the existing 4 lanes to 6 lanes.
