Tourist arrivals in Sanya during the 7-day Spring Festival holiday are expected to exceed 650,000 people; an increase of 15% over last year, and the tourism revenue generated by it is expected to reach 4.8 billion yuan, according to a press conference themed on the Chinese New Year Holiday Tourism 2014 recently.

Statistics show that the average hotel occupancy across the city in the holiday is remaining at 65% and partial hotels in regions like Yalong Bay and Sanya Bay have seen over 80%.

Xu Zhenlin, Vice Mayor of the Sanya government, said efforts are under way to improve tourism performance during the festive holiday, and expressed satisfaction that numbers for individual tourists accounted for a relatively large share at the major attractions in the city.
