New aircraft parking apron at Sanya Phoenix Airport put into service
Sanya Phoenix International Airport’s parking apron
The construction of Sanya Phoenix International Airport’s parking apron was completed and put into use recently after the relevant departments conducted a safety check.
Located at the east side of the airport’s VIP Terminal, the new aircraft parking apron covers an area of 41,008 square meters, offering 7 new parking places for planes.
The new aircraft parking apron will help to enhance the airport’s capacity to handle big events such as the Hainan Rendez-Vous and Boao Forum for Asia as well as increase efficiency in passenger handling in the peak season.
The annual throughput of Sanya Phoenix International Airport has seen rapid growth in recent years. In 2013, the passenger throughput of the airport hit 12.7 million with year-on-year increases of 12%.
