With the upcoming 2014 Spring Festival Golden Week, Sanya’s authorities have launched a specialized campaign to crack down on various illegal marine tourism operations in recent days in a bid to further regulate the city’s marine tourism market.

The campaign focused on four districts, including: Haitang Bay (containing Tielu Port), Yalong Bay, Sanya Bay (including Xiaodonghai and East Island) and Yazhou Bay.

The Sanya Municipal Transportation Bureau confirmed that they were giving priority to the establishment of a long-acting regulatory mechanism for cracking down on illegal tourism ships operating in the sea areas of Yalong Bay and Sanya Bay.

Tourism enterprises in Sanya, which have been punished two times over illegal sea-related tourism activities, will be blacklisted as discredited and unqualified tourism enterprises.
