The Sanya Flagship Store on tmall.com, has been officially launched on January 23rd, 2014 in a new attempt by Sanya Tourism Development Commission to improve the city’s tourism services through the development of tourism e-commerce.

The online store features 4 sections including the opening tourism promotions, hotels, scenic spots and tour routes. On its opening day the store displayed more than 50 travel products from around 30 enterprises.
 
Sanya has been one of the top tourism destinations for online tourism businesses in recent years. The online transaction volume for Sanya tourism services on Taobao.com, the leading e-commerce site in China alone reached 1 billion yuan in 2013.
 
Zhou Chunhua, the Director of Sanya Tourism Development Commission said Sanya is exploring new ways to upgrade its tourist industry and the online store also provides the need to regulate tourism e-commerce market.
 
To further boost its tourist industry as well as make Sanya tour smarter, Sanya is stepping up to promotes the use of new technologies such as the "Internet of Things," which allows users to approach in tourism information sharing and coordination through computers and cloud computing, tourism data and mobile internet.
