According to the Sanya Municipal Oceanic &Fishery Administration, the Sanya government will further perfect its equipment testing and quality management system to ensure the security and quality of aquatic products across the city throughout the year 2014.

Aquaculture businesses found to be using illegal drugs will have their aquaculture licenses revoked and will not receive any compensation from the government.

A head official at the Oceanic & Fishery Administration said that they were planning to set up a specialized section on their official website to publicize the information on the quality of aquaculture products.

In 2013, the government had 113 aquaculture farms in the city registered, with a total of 100 aquaculture farms having been checked, and two of them have been identified as nuisances to the aquaculture model bases, including Fulian farm and Xinmingzhu farm.

Sanya took first place at the 2013 Evaluation on inspection for the safety and quality of aquaculture products in Hainan.
