In the pioneering city for leisure tourism, Sanya’s fame has been further enhanced since it has been named among China’s top 10 leisure cities every three years since the competition was first held in 2007.

A survey conducted during last year’s National Day holiday showed that the return rate of tourists travelling to Sanya reached 44% as Sanya is building itself into a recreational site on the back of sightseeing attractions.

The city is becoming even more popular as local authorities have developed a series of tourism products to improve its attractiveness.

One of the entertainment activities is low-altitude helicopter tours. It showcases the latest tour trends in helicopters and offers visitors a unique chance to enjoy the beauty of Sanya from a birds eye view.

Being a tropical paradise with space, beach and mountains, Sanya is promoting family trips as part of its holidays, which are popular right now and growing fast.

To showcase its rich array of coastal resources, local authorities have also developed maritime tourism that offers offshore sightseeing and yachting.

Apart from coastal charms, the city has integrated local culture and tourism to attract visitors. A new scenic spot, named Romance Park, which features the local culture of the Li and Miao People, offers visitors in Sanya a good destination in the evening
