Overall inspections on the tourist service sectors and a crackdown on any unqualified tourist practices has been launched in Sanya for the New Year holiday period.

The checks focused on scenic spots and diving sites, the cultural performance center and the yacht service sector.

To ensure the safety of tourists, Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya is limiting the number of tourists. The number of tourists to the scenic spot will be limited to no more than 8,000 per day.

Since China's new tourism law came into effect on October 1st, the tourism environment in Sanya has improved greatly. In recent years, the government has made great efforts to track down illegal travel operators and so far fewer tourism complaints have been reported during major holidays.
