The Haikou Bus Terminal, a provincial-level transport project, began construction recently.

The Haikou Bus Terminal, located on the south side of Haikou East Station of Hainan East
Ring Railway, will occupy a land area of 78.84 acres. It will be Hainan’s first functional transportation hub integrating passenger transportation and travel services.

The terminal is to be built into a first-class integrated rail and road hub and the first phase of the terminal requires an investment of nearly 500 million yuan. The daily passenger flow of the terminal is expected to reach 20,000 once it is open and operating.
