Sanya is accelerating the construction of its culture industry in the city. As of December 20th, 2013, a total of 30 projects have settled down in Sanya, involving an investment of 95.968 billion yuan.

This year, 14 cultural projects have been listed as provincial cultural projects, accounting for 44% of the total figure. By 2015, the added value of the culture industry will account for more than 7.8% of the regional GDP.

These projects cover cultural tourism, conferences and exhibitions, entertainment performances, themed studios, animations and leisure rehabilitation.

The Sanya Creative Industry Park is speeding up its construction. A comprehensive industrial cluster has attracted 50 creative companies specializing in industrial design to invest in the park and some of them have obtained rights for land use.

The Sanya Romance Park, which enjoyed an investment of 1 billion Yuan during its first phase, was put into operation in mid-September of this year. This scenic spot offers local residents and tourists alike more colorful nightlife options and a variety of new cultural entertainment experiences.

Apart from those that are already under construction, the government also encourages some cultural towns to promote the integration of culture and tourism, manufacturing, sports activities, exhibitions and entertainment to give fresh impetus to the development of the cultural industry.
