4th Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum kicks off on Dec 18th
The most talented mathematicians and famous mathematical masters from home and abroad, major government officials and many student representatives attended the opening ceremony. The Fourth Conference of TSIMF will last until December 21st,
Following the grand opening, the Master Lectures on Mathematics for 2013 will be held. In addition, in order to facilitate interaction among mathematicians and physicists, the TSIMF will also host a workshop at the same time on the subject of Topological Materials.
The forum was led by the Chairman Shing-Tung Yau, a Chinese-born American mathematician, who won the Fields Medal in 1982 and is now a professor at Harvard University.
The TSIMF is the first of this type in Asia, under the strong support of Tsinghua University, Hainan Provincial Government and Sanya Municipal government. It is intended to become a world-class international conference center holding workshops and international conferences in mathematics in Sanya all year long.
In 2014, there will be more than 10 international academic forums launched at the TSIMF permanent site located on Phoenix Hill of Phoenix Town in Sanya.
