Sanya has recently introduced new regulations to better protect its nature protection reserves.

 

Any human activities and individuals are prohibited entering the protections’ core area.

 

Currently, the existing state-level nature reserves and special reserves in Sanya include Sanya Coral Reef Nature Reserve in Dadonghai area, Ganzaling Nature Reserve and Fuwan Reservoir protection Area.

 

Apart from the traditional nature protection reserves, forest parks, scenic spots and drinking water source protection areas in the city are also listed in the scope of the protected areas.

 

To better protect natural resources, according to the regulation, a buffer zone is required to be established near the protection areas in order to reduce the threat caused by the overdevelopment.

 

At the buffer areas, local enterprises and individuals should make plans in line with the regulation to guide the protection and the development of resources.
