Sanya to add a new national 3A scenic spot
According to the Sanya Tourism Development Committee, the Phoenix Hill Park in Sanya recently passed the preliminary assessment for being a national 3A-level scenic spot, and the result of the final assessment will soon be announced.
Phoenix Hill Park, also known as Phoenix Ridge (Fenghuangling in Chinese), is the highest peak in the city of Sanya at about 400 meters.
This hilltop park has stunning panoramic views of Sanya and the surrounding countryside, from Sanya Bay to Yalong Bay. A two-kilometer raised-wooden-pathway winds around the hillside forest, with viewing platforms jutting out along the way. This park is particularly worth a visit, to catch the sunsets over Sanya Bay.
Access to the peak is by cable car that glides silently for ten minutes over hidden valleys and farmland before reaching the peak.
