At present, there are a total of 25 green tourist hotels in Sanya, 15 of which are Gold-leaf level green tourist hotels and 10 are Silver-leaf level, and the number of green hotels is expected to soon reach 27.

Recently, 2 five-star hotels in Sanya including Haitang Bay Gloria Sanya Hotspring Resort and Grand Metropark Resort Sanya have passed the preliminary assessment for Gold-leaf level green tourist hotels after a series of reconstructions and upgrades.

Eight main factors including the candidate hotels' overall design, available green products, service, trash management, environmental protection, energy resource management, material costs, and water saving capabilities are considered during the assessment.

The green hotels were given the honor in recognition of outstanding efforts toward conserving energy, managing waste, and increasing safety and security.
