A low pressure system moving eastward over Japan will draw onshore flow from the Sea of Japan over surrounding countries Saturday.

Japan can expect widespread precipitation over much of the country, while clouds will linger over the Korean peninsula. Expect a messy combination of rain and snow in Tokyo with highs near 3 degrees Celsius. Seoul will see clearing skies with highs near 2 C.

To the west, another low pressure system developing as it moves off the Tibetan Plateau will spread scattered showers over south-central China from Haikou to Chengdu. Hong Kong will see cloudy skies with highs in the upper teens.

Eastern and northern China will see mild weather and sunny skies. Beijing will be sunny and cold with highs near minus 1 C. Shanghai will also be sunny with highs near 4 C.

In Australia, Sydney will see scattered showers with highs in the mid-20s C.
