3 bus routes in Sanya closed, affected by Typhoon Haiyan
Due to Typhoon Haiyan on Sunday, the 30th and strongest typhoon of this year, gales and downpours descended upon to the resort city of Sanya, and many road sections in the city were drenched with rainwater and mud.
According to the Sanya Transportation Department, 3 bus routes including buses No. 10, 11 and 26 in the city were suspended on Monday due to the serious water accumulation in related road sections.
One head of the Sanya Transportation Department said that they would do their best to take relevant measures to ensure smooth traffic for local residents and tourists.
He warned people to avoid the following roads including the intersection of Yingbin Road and Fenghuang Road, the road section from No.5 Primary School to Shibu Nongchang in Lizhigou Road, Xueyuan Road, Nanbianhai Road and Yuya Road.
