Sanya ranked first among the cities and counties in Hainan province in real estate investment, with a total investment of 21.945 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2013, up 31.5% over the same period of last year, according to a recent report released by Hainan Statistics Bureau.

In the first three quarters of 2013, the total investment in real estate on the island reached 81.445 billion yuan, an increase of 31% compared to the same period of last year, and a drop in growth of 2.8 percent compared to the same period of last year, albeit 5.8 percent higher than that of all fixed-asset investment in Hainan Island.

Sanya ranked second after Haikou amongst Hainan’s cities and counties in home sales with 1.3138 million square meters of housing transaction area during the first three quarters of 2013, up 8.2% over the same period of last year, while the sales of commercial residential houses in Sanya reached 824,300 square meters, an increase of 87.5%.
