Sanya environment monitoring department said on 23rd October that Sanya’s air quality remained excellent during 14th to 20th October, while elsewhere a number of cities across the country were suffering seriously hazy weather.

Officials from the department said the API( Air Pollution Index) of the city was 25~42 , an excellent level. The air quality has remained at a good level this week despite the PM2.5 in the city climbing slightly.

According to reports, two air pollution monitoring stations were put into operation in the city in September, which are capable of measuring pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, PM10, and PM2.5 and providing air pollution data in real-time.

Another three air pollution monitoring stations will be launched in Haitang bay, Yacheng and Yalong bay within the next few years.
