Sanya received more than 8 million overnight visitors in the first three quarters of this year, according to a recent report from Hainan Provincial Bureau of Statistics released on October 21st.

From January to September 2013, Sanya received a total of 8.4659 million overnight visitors, up 11.6% from the same period of last year, nearly 1.4 million more than the second-place city.

During the same period, the total number of visitors traveling to Sanya accounted for 33.4% of the whole province, which was 0.3 percent more than the previous year, according to the figures in the report.
