Recently, the Haikou government released the list of the first batch of 25 tourism standardization project model units.

Haikou was officially listed as a model city for the National Tourism Standardization Project in March 2012.

To cultivate a sound environment for tourism standardization, Haikou has been stepping up its tourism infrastructure construction, such as the installation of 1,655 surveillance cameras at the 10 scenic spots and 922 new traffic signs.

To build Haikou into an attractive tourism city, the local government has introduced 19 tourism projects and developed 20 tourist villages characterized with distinctive local cultural features since 2012.

Three high-end hotels: The Westin Haikou, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Haikou and the Haikou Marriott Resort and Spa are expected to open this year.
