The industry and Commerce Administration Bureau of Sanya said on 9th October that they did not receive a single seafood pricing complaint during the 2013 National Day holiday, thanks in no small part to efforts by the local authorities to regulate the seafood market during the National Day holiday.

Local authorities said that many measures were launched to regulate the seafood market after a major seafood pricing incident came to light in Sanya during the 2012 Spring Festival Holiday and sparked outrage across the country.

Such measures include setting price ceilings for seafood and mandating seafood sellers to mark prices clearly to ensure fairness.

In addition, more frequent inspections have also become common in order to ensure market order.
