Scenic spots across Sanya were flooded by tourists during the 7-day National Day holiday, which started on 1st October.

Local authorities say the city welcomed over 70,000 visitors on 4th October, the fourth day of the holiday.

During the holiday, the number of tourists visiting the city was nearly 3 times that of normal, and up by 10 percent compared to the National Day holiday of last year.

According to reports, sea sightseeing and watersports were the most popular tourism products in the city during the holiday.

"The main reason I chose Sanya is to enjoy the gorgeous costal scenery and watersports on offer here. The waters here are very clean, and the underwater environment is magical” said Fan Li, a visitor from Shanxi province.
