The wedding tourism market in Sanya recently enjoyed a boom in business, as the number of couples from all over the country visiting the city for their wedding celebrations rose dramatically during China’s National Day holiday.

A Hao, a professional photographer who has been working in the wedding shooting industry for 4 years, told a reporter that the number of wedding photo tourists visiting Sanya during the week-long holidays was up 40% to 50% over normal times.

He added that it’s not only young to-be married couples who book wedding photo shoots, but also longtime husband and wife couples who want to recall the sweet memories of their weddings, with some taking along their children to have family photos taken.

In addition, many couples during the week were visiting Sanya as their honeymoon destination or holding their wedding receptions there.

Sanya, internationally famous as a tropical tourist city, is a prime location for weddings with its abundance of stunning tropical scenery that includes picturesque coastline and pristine beaches, palm trees and a huge variety of the world’s best international starred hotels for the all-important wedding reception
