50 new taxis have been put into service to help visitors and locals alike get around during the National Day holiday.
 
Operated by the Fly Ma Auto Company, these new taxis are yellow and bear the Sanya tourism logo. The new taxis use dual-fuel engines, which are quieter than conventional ones.
 
A further 66 new taxis will be also added to the Sanya taxi service very shortly, at which point the total number of taxis in Sanya will increase to 1,750.
 
As the annual volume of tourists has skyrocketed, taxis in Sanya have been in short supply during holiday periods. Many local residents have long complained about the chronic shortage of taxis in the city.
