Naval vessel transports 1st batch of 268 survivors from sinking boat to Sanya
At 9:30 on October 3rd, the South china sea naval vessel 991 transported its first batch of 268 rescued survivors shipwrecked near the Xisha Islands during Typhoon Wutip, arriving at a South China Sea Fleet naval base terminal in Sanya after 15 hours of sailing.
At the time of writing, a total of 52 rescued fishermen trapped in the typhoon are still sheltering from the storm on Chenhang Island, with 2 left on Yongxing Island and 27 on Drummond Island.
On the afternoon of October 1st, a large quantity of daily supplies including about 5 tons of rice flour, vegetables, one thousand quilts, clothes, shoes and summer bed-mats, and nearly 2 tons of other essential supplies were transported to Chenhang Island by the South China Sea Fleet.
