According to a price table published by the Sanya commodity price control department listing the room rates of hotels in Sanya, general hotel room rates in Sanya dropped by 10 percent during the 2013 National Day Holiday(1st to 7th October) compared to the same period of last year.

According to the price table, the lowest room rate in the city during the Golden Week is RMB88 per night. Hotel room rates in Sanya bay area are relatively low compared to other areas, with most rooms below 800RMB per night.

According to reports, the number of hotel rooms in Sanya increased by 14.2 percent from January to August this year.

Budget hotels in areas including Sanya bay and downtown Sanya enjoy the greatest popularity during the Golden Week as they are comparatively close to scenic spots.
