Sanya’s Tianya Town will be built into an internationally competitive tropical agricultural tourist town according to the general planning for Tianya Town in Sanya (2012-2020) which was recently approved by experts.

Tianya Town, a tropical coastal town about 22 kilometers west of Sanya city, boasts a total land area of 112.18 square kilometers and a population of 62,000.

According to the plans, Tianya tropical agricultural tourist town will include 6 tourist resorts with various characteristics, namely Tianyahaijiao scenic spot, Hongtang Bay Coastal leisure resort area, Tianya Scenery Town tourist area, a tropical rehabilitation area, Tashan & Bushan tropical agricultural leisure resort area and Lichun Reservoir tropical rainforest-experience tourist area.
