On the afternoon of September 18th, Wang Yong, the Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Sanya city, met with the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Moana Carcasses, at Sanya's Yalong Bay.

At the meeting on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival (one of the reunion holidays for Chinese families, which fell on September 19th this year), Sanya's Mayor Wang Yong extended a warm welcome and expressed his hope for a long lasting friendship between Sanya and Vanuatu to the delegation led by Mr. Carcasses, before both sides exchanged ideas on deepening understanding and cooperation across many fields.

Mr. Wang explained the Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Sanya duty-free shop, international cruise terminal and the hotel industry in Sanya to the delegation during the meeting.

Mr. Carcasses said that he strongly sought the strengthening of exchanges and cooperation in road construction, airport construction and solar technology between Sanya and Vanuatu.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Wang presented pearl necklaces and a large painting album entitled Sanya Story to the delegation, while Mr. Carcasses presented mascots from Vanuatu in return.
