According to statistics from Ctrip.com, China’s largest online travel site, Sanya has taken the top spot among the popular destinations in China for off peak travel before the National Day holiday.

The listing of popular destinations is followed by Xiamen, Beijing, Qingdao, Xi ‘an, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Xishuangbanna and Guilin, as usual.

Starting from September 2nd, Ctrip.com recorded a soaring number of off peak travel bookings, an increase of 43% compared to the last week.

The booking volumes of domestic independent tours for the last 10 days before the National Day holiday increased by more than 50% over the same period of last year, accounting for nearly 60% of the total off-peak travel products.
