Visits of overseas Chinese media outlets to Hainan successfully concluded
A trip by a group of overseas Chinese media executives to Hainan to cover a tourism promotion campaign, the 2013 Tour in China: Hainan Tour, was recently successfully concluded, the Hainan Daily Reports.
During their four-day visit to Hainan, the group of overseas Chinese outlets executives from 13 countries including America, Canada, New Zealand, Hungary and Australia visited cities and counties including Haikou, Sanya, Chengmai, Wanning and Baoting.
Chen Heyi, a department director of Australia’s Pacific Daily who last visited Hainan 25 years ago, said that he was impressed by the huge changes in Hainan and said he hoped to promote exchanges between Australia and the province.
The vice-president of America’s Las Vegas Newspapers Wu Zhiping said that she was impressed by the ethnic cultures in Hainan, and said she would spread word of Hainan's fantastic attractions and strengths to residents of Las Vegas. She added that Hainan should put more focus on the education and cultivation of local tourism talents, as tourism is a highly competitive industry internationally.
Geng Jie, the director of the Hungary’s Xindaobao, suggested that Hainan should boost the international recognition of the province by participating in more overseas activities.
