12 overseas Chinese media outlets from countries including the United States, Canada, Holland, Hungary and South Korea gathered in Sanya on 4th September for a tourism promotion campaign jointly launched by the Hainan Tourism Development Commission, the Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan province.

The media outlets visited places including Tianya Haijiao, Nanshan Tourism Spot, Phoenix Island Cruise Terminal and a number of other tourism attractions across Sanya.

The head of the Sanya Publicity Department Sun Su extended a warm welcome to the overseas media outlets during a meeting in the evening of 4th September.

"Sanya has enjoyed rapid growth in coastal tourism, cruise tourism, yacht tourism and ethnic cultural tourism in recent years thanks to heavy investment in tourism attractions, hotels, and transportation infrastructure. We hope distinguished guests from the media can promote Sanya to the world” said Sun Su during the meeting.

"I am very impressed by the huge changes in Sanya” said Chen Heyi, who works with the Australia-based Pacific Daily and last visited Sanya 25 years ago.

During their time in Hainan, the visitors also travelled to cities including Haikou, Chengmai, Wanning and Qionghai.
