Mr. Liu Baoli, the Deputy Director of China Ministry of Education, Mr. Gu Jingqi, the Vice-Mayor of the Sanya Municiple Government, Ms. Zhongxin, Deputy Director of Hainan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Mr.Wei Yong, Chairman of Qiongzhou University Council, Mr. Wu Yaoting, the President of Qiongzhou University, Mr. Zhong Xiaomin,  Vice-Director of the Sanya Education Bureau, Mr. Xian Guojian, Vice-Director of the Sanya Foreign Affairs Office attended the opening ceremony, and some of them made speeches.


In 2008, Qiongzhou University was one of the only ten international educational training bases honored by the Ministry of Education. In November 2010, Qiongzhou University hosted the first ‘High Level Seminar on Tourism Management for Developing Countries, particularly in Africa and Asia. ’

This year, the 4th session seminar will last for 20 days and participants include 20 officials from tourism bureaus and University Deans from South Africa, Egypt, Indonesia, the Maldives, Nepal, Vietnam and Tanzania. The seminar will help to promote educational exchanges and tourism resource cooperation between Hainan and the global community.

Qiongzhou University is a provincial state-owned university authorized by the Ministry of Education, China, which is located in southern China. It’s the only state-owned university in Sanya at present, and one of the ten “Educational Aid Centers for Asia & Africa” authorized by the Ministry of Education.
