Sanya is to be built into the low-altitude airspace tourism headquarter base of Hainan international tourism island, according to a special plan for the development of low-altitude airspace tourism released by the Sanya municipal government on 20th August.

The total planning area for the low-altitude airspace tourism project is 5,418.37 square kilometers including 1,918.37 square kilometers of land area and 3,500 square kilometers of sea area.

As part of the construction of the low-altitude airspace tourism area, Sanya is to develop a series of low-altitude airspace tourism products including helicopter sightseeing, seaplane tourism, air-trike tourism, Paramotoring and hot air balloon sightseeing.

According to the plan, the government will build an airspace cultural theme park, 5 alternative helicopter landing fields, a hot air balloon entertainment center in Sanya Haitang Bay, a Paramotoring center in Wuzhizhou Island, 4 Parasailing centers in Dadonghai, Yalong Bay, Wuzhizhou Island and West Islet and many service centers.

In addition, the low-altitude airspace for tourism in Sanya will be divided into three zones, including a low-altitude no-flight zone, low-flying sightseeing area and low-flying sports zone.
