Large-scale cultural performance Sanya Qianguqing is to debut in September at Sanya Qianguqing Grand Theater, according to Sanya Publicity Departments.

As a key cultural project of Hainan province, the performance will feature ethnic performing arts and dances, showing off Sanya’s rich and varied cultures.

The performance is expected to help drive the Sanya tourism performing market, in the hugely popular tourist city that now receives more than 10 million overnight tourists a year, according to officials from the local publicity department.

Crew members and performers involved in the performance are now stationed in Qianguqing Grand Theater, and preparation work is well underway.
