A cycling activity organized by the Sanya Cycling Association was held on Sunday in Sanya as a way of promoting low carbon travel.

Together with around 120 enthusiastic cyclists, the mayor of Sanya Wang Yong and vice mayor Xu Zhenling took part in the activity, promoting law carbon travel along the cycling route starting from Dadonghai square to the Banshan Bandao Sailing Harbor.

"Cycling is not only good for the health, but also for the environment. And what’s more, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery along the route while cycling” said one cyclist.

Officials from Sanya Cycling Association said Sanya was perfect for cycling. The city has around 900 cycling enthusiasts at the present, with the oldest aged 80 and the youngest 6. Weekly cycling activities are organized by the association.

"We hope more people can live a healthy lifestyle by taking part in cycling and other outdoor activities and being close to nature” Said Xu Zhenling.
